New York City II


Today is my first day in the city, being that we landed after dark the previous evening.  Talk about non-stop walking.  We walked and rode the subway all day!  I love this city!  There is a pulse and excitement all around.  There is amazing people watching

I recently went to NYC.  I needed a quick fix of great food, of vibrancy and the pulse of a big city to make me feel ALIVE!!  We (Leslie and Kim)  landed at LaGuardia at 5:20pm and by 8:00pm were sitting at Marea,  a hot Italian restaurant, from Chef Michael White.  It

For the Love of Risotto


I love risotto!  It is comfort food with a luxurious twist.  The creaminess that comes from the butter and in some risottos the parmesan.  The bite of the rice and the aromatics that fill your house when cooking something for a minimum of 20 minutes while standing directly over the pot.

I came across this recipe at Bon Appetit a couple years ago and I believe it is the best risotto I have ever had, ever!

Why Alfredo?


    Fresh fish, locally grown vegetables, organic eggs, local fruit orchards, it seems we are surrounded by healthy ingredients, all of which are now available in NorthEastern Wisconsin.

     This past week saw menus at my house that included:

          -Diver Scallops with Edamame and Tomatoes over Polenta

          -Pan-Fried Soft Shell Crabs
